Our family holiday to 'Chicken'!
We've had such a lovely week away. Both children were really good on the flights and the hotel was really nice. It was so nice to have a week where it was just the 4 of us, we didn't tie ourselves to any day trips and just took every day as it came. The weather was really kind to us the first two days, lovely bright and sunny. The rest of the week was a bit hit and miss really, a mixture of cloud and showers with occasional sun, we even had a huge thunder storm! We didn't let the weather hamper us in any way, the hotel had an indoor pool so we went swimming most days, we were all inclusive so enjoyed visiting the patisserie, restaurants and bars during the day and the hotel was right on the beach with a lovely promenade so we'd go for nice walks in between the rain! Side (pronounced 'seeday') was a delightful place, we both enjoyed the atmosphere in the old town. All the Turkish trying to get you in their shops to sell you their 'rubbish' as they'd tell you! The marina area was quite nice too and we took a little boat ride out around the coastline. Side is also steeped in history, there's a huge amphitheatre surrounded by historical ruins, it was quite rough ground to walk around so we told Charlie we were walking on the moon, he kept calling me 'Space Mummy!!' In fact Charlie came out with a few funny things on holiday, he's going through that cute comical stage and he has us laughing so much! One of his cuties was when we were on the coach on the transfer to the hotel, there were some orange and lemon trees in the field along the road. I pointed them out to Charlie and asked him what was growing on the trees.......'leaves Mummy' was his reply! LOL!
The cross stitch is going well too, I managed one complete cat and one cup on holiday! (since the holiday the second cat is almost complete)

2010 Review Layout
According to my computer it's currently 01:48! I have been working on my 2010 review layout this evening and really wanted to get it finished! There are 91 photos on this layout! Really hope I don't pay for my late night tomorrow! :chuckle:

Don't tell my diet!!!
Next cross stitch project!
We are going on holiday to Turkey next week (or Chicken if you listen to Charlie, LOL!) It was a surprise booking that happened on New Year's Eve so we've not had long to wait, yay!
As the children will be in bed in the evenings I wanted to find a new cross stitch project to take with me, Mark enjoys reading and I can stitch so it'll be nice and quiet. I searched for a little while before I came across the Margaret Sherry designs, she designs Penny Black rubber stamps too and i've always loved them so stitching one of her designs seemed apt. There were quite a few that I really liked but in the end I decided to stitch 'Coffee and Cuddles' after a friend (thank you Cara!) noticed that the mugs matched the knobs in my craft room! I can't wait to get started on it, the design just happened to be in a previous issue of Cross Stitcher so I sorted through my threads to see which colours I already had and bought the rest, the fabric i'm using is an off cut from the My Little Heart cross stitch so all in all it's going to end up a nice little budget project!

Scrapbooking!
I've spent the evening in my craft room, I always used to do scrapbooking on a Saturday night when Mark had a friend around. I used to really enjoy that 'me' time but his friend doesn't come anymore and I kind of got out of the habit! Since having my new room (and Courtney!) I've not had a lot of spare time to scrapbook so I've made a new vow to myself that Saturday night's scrapping will resume!
I managed 3 layout's tonight, I'm really sorry they don't seem to have scanned in very well but you get the idea!
